Let us worship together this Fifteenth Sunday After Pentecost. Susan Murray will be preaching, “How to Defile Yourself,” based on Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.

Announcements:

  • The Chancel Choir has begun rehearsals, Wednesdays at 7 pm. All singers are welcome to join this important part of our worship.
  • First Friday Out will be September 6 at 6 pm at Koi. Contact Javier by this Sunday for reservations.
  • We will start the Fall Bible Study on Wednesday, Sep 11th, at 6 PM. The book for our Fall series is “A Is for Alabaster” by Anna Carter Florence. The paperback book is available from several book websites, but the best-listed price is currently from the PCUSA store, as it is on sale for $13. We will discuss the lesson “A is for Abigail” on Sep 11th, and “A is for Alabaster” on Sep 18th. The Fall Bible Study series will have 12 lessons and end on Wednesday, Dec 4th.

Announcements:

  • On Saturday, August 24, we are hosting a disc golf tournament at 9:30 am. Flyer: 2024 FPC Disc Golf Tournament – Flyer. Registration closes Friday, 8/23, at 5 pm.
  • Immediately following the disc golf, there will be an ice cream social in the fellowship hall. Games for kids start at 10:30 with ice cream at 11:00. Please join us! Flyer: Ice Cream Social
  • The chancel choir will be returning from its summer hiatus soon. Rehearsals begin August 28 at 7 pm and continue every Wednesday. The choir will first participate in worship on September 8. All singers welcome!

On August 11, 2024, Jonathan Kimball became a commissioned ruling elder (CRE), commissioned by John Calvin Presbytery to serve First Presbyterian Church of Rolla. He will be a part-time CRE while continuing his work at Missouri S&T. He will preach twice monthly and perform other pastoral duties. His commissioning service was recorded and is available here:
