The title of Pastor John Oerter’s sermon for the week of September 15, 2013 is The Best Jobs Ever based on scriptures from Luke 15: 3 – 7 and I Timothy 1: 12 – 17.  The hymns for Sunday are Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise, and Be Thou My Vision.

Worship begins at 9:45 am, followed by education and fellowship.  Our church provides a Nursery during worship service.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 919 E. Tenth Street in Rolla.  Our website is www.rollapresby.org.

Sunday School is held every Sunday at 11:00 am.  We offer a variety of classes for all age groups.

Come to meet and talk with the Rev. Wilfred Orr on October 9th  4 – 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.  Reverend Orr is one of our 2013 International Peacemakers and is touring the U.S. hosted by the PCUSA.

Health Kits for the Festival of Sharing can still be assembled and placed in the foyer until October 12.

Join us on September 22 for a Town Hall meeting and luncheon after worship to discuss future plans in our interim process.  Please let us know if child care will be needed.

Presbyterian Women have scheduled their annual Rummage Sale for Saturday, October 5 from  8 – 2 in the fellowship hall.  Details are in the bulletin and on the website.

The Peacemaking offering is from September 8 – October 6.  Your donations go toward preventing gun violence, stop human trafficking, and finding a place to sleep for the homeless.

Appointments are currently being made for the new pictorial directory for October 23 – 26.  You may go to our web site, www.rollapresby.org, and click on the “Family Album” tab and follow the prompts.  If you do not have access to a computer, please contact Mary Kwantes at 341-3450.  She will be assisting with appointments this Sunday in the fellowship hall after worship.

The public reception at the Olive Street Church has been changed to October 19th from 10:00 – noon.  Please plan to stop by and extend the invitation to your friends.

Join Circle III for Manor Vespers and a baby shower on Sunday, September 22 beginning at 3:45.  After Vesper services at the manor everyone will go to Wendy Wilbanks’ home for a baby shower to assemble ‘baby bundle packs’ and ‘layettes’ for the Festival of Sharing.  For more information, contact Jean Moran-Day or any member of Circle III.
