May 05, 2013

The title of Pastor John Oerter’s sermon for the week of May 05, 2013 is The Garden Blooms in the City based on scriptures from Revelation 21: 9-10, 22-27 and Revelation 22: 1-5.  The hymns for Sunday are Crown Him with Many Crowns, and Here, O Our Lord We See You Face to Face.

Sunday school is held every Sunday at 11:00 am.  We offer a variety of classes for all age groups.

Worship begins at 9:45 am, followed by education and fellowship.  Our church provides a Nursery during worship service.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 919 E. Tenth Street in Rolla.  Our website is www.rollapresby.org.

The third of our major, yearly, Faith-Celebrations is: PENTECOST.  Pentecost is considered the Birthday of the Church.  The Liturgical color is red, reminding us of the fire of the Holy Spirit.  So, for our worship on May 19th, feel free to wear RED as a way to ‘pray’ with your body and garb, as a way to remind us to allow the Holy Spirit to ‘set us on fire’ for our Master, Jesus, and His mission to transform the world.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 16 – 20.

Presbyterian Women will hold their Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting on May 11 at 11:30 am at the home of Fredi Zobrist.  The meeting is very important as it will determine the future of the PW in our church.  Please save the date and come.

Preschool Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
