Next Sunday, September 29, we will have a picnic at Veterans Memorial Park at 11:30 am. Please bring your own lunch. We will have water and some desserts to share.

During A Season of Peace, September 8 to October 6, World Communion Day, we will be collecting the Peace and Global Witness offering. These funds are used for peace education, helping families in need, assistance for teens and young adults, and community care and engagement. 25% of the offering will stay in our community and go to Russell House, 25% will go to mid-councils to unite congregations to support peacemaking in their regions, and 50% will support the work for peace and reconciliation being done by Presbyterians across the globe. There are special envelopes for this offering on the table near the entrance doors.

  • We mourn the loss of long-time member Dr. Katherine Cook. Services will be held at Null & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 6-8 pm. The service of witness to the resurrection will be Wednesday, September 18, at 10 am.
  • Our fall Bible study will continue every Wednesday at 6 pm at the back of the sanctuary. This week’s lesson is, “A is for Alabaster,” which is also the title of the book by Anna Carter Florence.

We will start the Fall Bible Study this Wednesday, Sep 11th, at 6 PM. The book for our Fall series is “A Is for Alabaster” by Anna Carter Florence. The paperback book is available from several book websites, but the best-listed price is currently from the PC(USA) store, as it is on sale for $13. We will discuss the lesson “A is for Abigail” on Sep 11th, and “A is for Alabaster” on Sep 18th. The Fall Bible Study series will have 12 lessons and end on Wednesday, Dec 4th.

  • On Saturday, August 24, we are hosting a disc golf tournament at 9:30 am. Flyer: 2024 FPC Disc Golf Tournament – Flyer. Registration closes Friday, 8/23, at 5 pm.

  • Mission and Outreach has decided to continue the crayon drive for the back to school fair. This will continue through July. There is a box for Crayola crayon 24 pack at the entrance to the sanctuary.
  • We will also be participating in GRACE for Kids, Christmas in July through the month of July. We were assigned toys for the littlest kids, zero to three years. There is a Christmas box at the entrance to the sanctuary.
