Cookbook corrections

It has come to my attention that two recipes need additional information in them.  I have corrections typed that you may pick up at the office and place on your pages or you may choose to update your book in pen.

They are:  Page 25 – Bake 25 minutes or until bubbly @ 300 degrees.

Page 71 – Under “Sift together” add 2 cups flour and 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

The church office will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2014 in observance of President’s Day.

February is our designated Boy Scout Celebration Month.  We will honor Leaders and Scouts, especially anyone who received their Eagle badge with Troop 83 on February 16 during worship and fellowship.

February 16 is Chili Cook-off with Western theme at 5:00 pm in the fellowship hall.  Please dress in your western gear and be ready for an evening of campfire songs, square dancing, and sideline cheering.

Robert Frank Waters

Mr. Waters passed away January 30, 2014.  Funeral services will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Rolla, Missouri with the Reverend Sue Biggerstaff officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time.  Interment with full military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.  Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Rolla.  Cards are available at all James and Gahr locations.

The church office will be closed Monday, January 20, 2014 in observance of Martin Luther King’s Birthday. The preschool will be in session as a makeup snow day.

The leadership training has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 25th from 9-4 in the Fellowship Hall.  Homemade soup will be provided.  If you wish to bring brown bag lunch feel free.

Bell practice will not be held during the month of January.

Annual congregational meeting is scheduled for January 26, 2014 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary following worship.

Please submit your articles for the February newsletter by Wednesday, January 29th.

Circle III is looking to include any women who have not been meeting with another circle.  We will meet at 1308 Whitney Lane, the 19th at 3 p.m. There will be devotional and planning time.  Please call Mary 341-3450 if you need directions or email her at mlakwantes@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

We are seeking volunteers to assist our Nursery Attendant in the Nursery on an “as needed” basis during Sunday Worship service.

John Calvin Presbytery Disaster Assistance group is going to Joplin the week of February 23-28.  We will be staying at Shoal Kirk and rebuilding a house through Rebuild Joplin.  If you can only work one or two days there is an opportunity.  You need to commute on your work days to Joplin and bring your own lunch.  If you are interested in working during this time in Joplin, contact Kathy Morriss, 417-234-4643 or email toddandkathy.morriss@gmail.com by February 15th.
