The title of Reverend Lou Ellen Hartley’s sermon for the week of October 25, 2015 is Re-Formation Sunday based on scriptures from Job 42:1-6, 10-17; Psalm 34:1-8; and Mark 10:46-52. The hymns for Sunday are A Mighty Fortress Is Our God; Breathe on Me, Breath of God; Alleluia! Sing to Jesus! and Blest Be the Tie That Binds .

John Lindon Best passed away…
Mr. Best, former member of our church, passed away on Tuesday, October 6th. His funeral services will be held at James and Gahr Mortuary on Monday, October 12th with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and service to follow. The family requests that donations be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.

The PW Rummage Sale is October 17 from 7:30 am – 2:00 pm.
Old Iron Works Days – St. James, October 10th
We have plans to take several cars over to Old Iron Works Day. Our younger adults may need rides. Cars will be leaving parking lot at 10:00 am for Old Iron Works Day.
Reverend Hartley’s Installation
The Personnel Committee will be hosting the reception after Rev. Hartley’s installation on 18 October at 4 pm. The service will last about one hour and the reception will follow at about 5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Marilyn has agreed to coordinate the food which will include a sheet cake and finger foods. Hopefully all of the committee will be present for the installation and will help with anything Marilyn needs and with clean up.
In memory of John and Bernadine Cole…
A tree and bench will be dedicated to the memory of John and Bernadine Cole, longtime Boy Scout leaders of Troop #83 and members of First Presbyterian Church, on Sunday afternoon, October 11th at 4:00 pm on the Acorn Trail. Those wishing to attend this service of dedication can carpool from First Presbyterian Church parking lot at 3:45 pm or drive to the Acorn Trail access, one block west of Southview Drive on Lion’s Club Drive. The site is located on the Acorn Trail, across the pedestrian bridge and approximately one hundred yards west (to the right).
