The title of Reverend Lou Ellen Hartley’s sermon for the week of November 29, 2015 is Living into Hope based on scriptures from Jeremiah 33: 14-16.  The hymns for Sunday are Awake! Awake and Greet the New Morn; Light One Candle to Watch for Messiah; The King of Glory; Come Lord Jesus; All Earth is Waiting and He Came Down.

Worship begins at 9:45 am, followed by fellowship and education at 11:00 a.m.  Our church provides a Nursery during worship service.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 919 E. Tenth Street in Rolla.  Our website is www.rollapresby.org.

Our informal worship service, FIRED UP! is held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. There will be no service on Thanksgiving, November 26th.

Our annual Cookie Walk/Bake Sale and Christmas Bazaar will be on Saturday, December 5th from 8 am to 2 pm.

There will be a special congregational meeting immediately following worship service on December 6, 2015.  Please plan to attend.

The Session has called a special congregational meeting immediately following the worship service on December 6, 2015 for the purpose of transferring property to the City of Rolla and for electing officers nominated by the congregational nominating committee.

RCAS will be performing December 12th in the sanctuary.  Choir practice is each Monday evening at 7 pm until the concert.

The choir will be presenting the Messiah on December 13 and 20 during worship.  Rehearsals are each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary.

The children’s Sunday school class has several opportunities for adults to sub for a class in the next few months.  Please call Kelly Look at 319-530-6281 for dates and information.

PALS (Presby Active Ladies) will meet for lunch on Monday, November 2, at 11:45 at Los Arcos.

First Friday Night Out will meet at The Tater Patch at 5:30 pm on November 6, 2015.

Yarners, finish up those projects!  We will be dedicating the handmade gifts for Russell House on Sunday November 8th and delivering them to the domestic violence shelter after that.  If you aren’t finished with your hats, gloves, scarfs and other project by then, we’ll make more deliveries in the future.  You are welcome to work on project at home but many of us enjoying visiting while we work.  We meet in fellowship hall after worship in the Sadler Lounge on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 pm.  People are always welcome to work on items that are not donations.

The Deacons would love to send holiday greetings to our college students and military personnel.  Please give names and addresses to Carrie Aswegan (craswegan@hotmail.com) by Sunday, November 29, 2015.

The memorial bricks will be dedicated in the garden following the  service on Sunday.
