Written On Our Hearts – Bulletin and Announcements for March 17, 2024

This Fifth Sunday in Lent, we have a special guest, Rev. Dr. Susan Forshey, Associate Professor of Christian Discipleship at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Her sermon, “Written On Our Hearts,” will be based primarily on Jeremiah 31:31-34.

As previously announced, our live stream system was knocked out by a lightning strike. A recording will be posted sometime Sunday. Other announcements:

  • Please join us for the March 28 Maundy Thursday Service in the chapel at 6:30.
  • Also plan on the Easter carry-in Brunch in Fellowship Hall following the 9:45 service on March 31. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. The lower-level doors will be open before worship to drop off your food and the oven will be on low.
  • We continue to fill our Easter Basket of Hope.  We are asking for hair care products on March 17 and personal care items (deodorant, razors, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products) on March 24.
  • The One Great Hour of Sharing special offering will be collected through Easter.  This offering is divided between the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program and Self-Development of People.

The Light – Bulletin, Live Stream for March 10, 2024

This Fourth Sunday in Lent, we encounter one of the most famous passages, John 3:14-21. Susan Murray will be preaching, “The Light.” DON’T FORGET TO SPRING FORWARD!

Barriers – Bulletin, Live Stream, Announcements for March 3, 2024

Worship on March 3, the Third Sunday in Lent, will center on a sermon provided by Jonathan Kimball titled “Barriers,” based on John 2:13-22. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.

Last week’s stream was disrupted by technical difficulties. Hopefully, those issues will get resolved before worship.

There will be a congregational information session next week, March 10, following worship for the purpose of receiving the budget and answering any questions.

Our Lenten Bible study, Seven Days to Glory: Holy Week, continues Wednesdays at 6 pm at the back of the sanctuary. This week we will discuss Thursday of Holy Week.

We are collecting items for the “Basket of Hope” to benefit Russell House, GRACE, and The Rolla Mission throughout Lent. Please bring toilet paper and paper towels to benefit these important organizations.
